Just wanted to give you my thanks, I must have read through 10-15 websites before I found yours. I would guess many people have this exact problem, you’d think WordPress would point this kind of problem out in its developer documentation!

I noticed, after reading your post, that my form has field named “s” and page was redirected to 404 or index. How stupid can i be? WP uses “s” for search variable, and for ex. “p” as page variable. Your post really saved my debugging time, thank you!
